Interview with Arpita Mukherjee - “Yeh Chand”

Arpita Mukherjee- all set to spread the fragrance of music with her debut album “Yeh Chand”

Hot chic from an Indian talent show ‘Fame Gurukul’, Arpita Mukherjee has bloomed as an another flower in the world of music and all set to spread the fragrance among music lovers. Arpita is an Economic (honors) graduate & ‘Sangeet Siromani’ from Faculty of Music, Delhi University. She was in Delhi at Hotel Le Meridian recently to promote her debut album “Yeh Chand”. She says, this album is all about the soft romantic feelings of a young girl who is in love, but she is not aware of those feelings and asks the nature, that what happened to her & about those feelings. The nature replies that she has fallen in love. Then she realizes that she is in love. In the video of this album Arpita shared the screen with Kuldeep Rohil.

This album has been tuned by the renowned singer Sukhwinder Singh and lyrics by Shakeel Azmi and launched by Crescendo Promotions & Management. Arpita Mukherjee has made her debut as a singer in bollywood with Tanuja Chandra’s film ‘Film Star’ and then she sang the title track of ‘Kuch Meetha Ho Jai’ for Himesh Reshamiya. And her forth coming two songs can be heard in the month of September in Ashok Nand’s up coming release ‘Riwaaz’, Among these two songs one is the title song of the movie and another is a romantic number.

When she quizzed about her entry in Bollywood as actress she said, I will keep my options open and I would like to explore my other talents also. But my main focus will be always on singing.

Arpita is a trained artist in various forms of music viz Classical, Light Classical, Folk, Ghazal & Thumri etc. She very much admires Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and Geeta Dutt. A specific dimension to her personality is her interactive ability with any type of audiences in National and International festivals and annual events. This is facilitated by her interviews as anchor Women for Doordarshan TV (Subha Savere) as an emerging artist of India. Women Hour, Zee TV, ETV, Total TV etc. She has Anchored popular programs ‘Meri Baat’ — Doordarshan , TVM- Sauna Belt etc. and has been part of “Celebrity Shows” of Star Plus and Doordarshan Antakshari Shows.

Arpita’s major successful platforms and public notice has been the successful winning performances as the “Golden Voice” award for “TVS Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” of Zee TV musical show and subsequently as a finalist of “Fame Gurukul” organized by Sony TV. Arpita gave her first stage performance at the very tender age of 5 at a public function organized on behalf of Janmashtami.
